The Zeppelin as a threat to peace and ambience? Is it a fleet of Zeppelins, no just one. Come on, how many times per day will it pass by or near your house, 1 or 2? If you are busy with life, odds are you will not even notice it most days, as it sails by, almost noiselessly. I think it will add a charm and uniqueness to the area, which I hope to see now and again between bouts of deadly serious issues.

If the vintners and residents of the two valleys found this train invasive, and I remember the anti-wine train signs along the track in the Napa Valley at that time, prepare yourselves solidly for the next surreal and macabre chapter and appearance of the 250 foot wine country Zeppelin which is starting to do test flights this fall in both valleys from the Napa airport! This thing is the size of a 747 jet and would only* carry about 6 ~ 8 passengers at 1000 feet or so. If you do nothing it *will* be a part of the landscape there and turn things into a true two dimensional and candy colored infantile Disneyland and destroy any sense of peace and ambience that we all have left there. What next oil exploration and then drilling? See link for more info here: http://www.napavalleyregister.com/articles/2008/06/30/news/local/doc4869101e72143659726279.txt

I have enjoyed the wine train many times, as it is one of the better ways to see a good portion of the southern valley, and the food is certainly mostly great. On occasion there have been hiccups, as it is with all restaurant type locales, but it is worth the time, especially if you haven't done it before. The ballet is spectacular as the wait staff pour wine tableside with the sway of the cars... quite impressive and worth the price of admittion alone!

The wine train is great! My wife and I did it about four or five years ago. It was really romantic and really fun talking to the other people in our car. At the time we did it, all of the train tickets were purchased in advance and then all of the meals were ordered separately on board. It's good to see that that has changed and you can pay it all up front.
Also, some technical feedback: All of the text in the comment box is not visible. It's probably a pretty easy fix, maybe has something to do with the width of the column vs the width of the reply box(the right hand border of the reply box is cut off.)
