We’ve eaten at J&Ts a couple times but haven’t hit the bar yet. I’ve just recently started drinking whisky (and whiskey) again, after years of avoiding it. I am in love with Lagavulin, so smoky! Thanks for the heads up about Traverso’s, I’ll definitely be looking in to that.

Hey ya’ll, I’m from Tomales, went to school in Petaluma, but have been at college in New Orleans for the last 5 years (had a break du to Katrina) and I can say without a doubt that Commander’s Palace is amazing, the bread pudding especially. The 25 cent lunch martinis are also particularly good.

I agree with Bill, Traverso’s has some stupindous tastings and a terrific education on distilled spirits during the tastings. I like all the wiskeys but I prefer a good single malt scotch and it has become very popular in recent years. Neat is the best way or with just a drop or two of water, literally.

Nitpick - When referring to Scotch (or Canadian), it's almost always spelled whisky, or whiskies for plural. And for Irish or American - whiskey or whiskeys. Mmmmm. I love it. My husband can't even stand the smell of it.

Good question gram (I know its you!)
So, I used a Safeway Baguette (not the sourdough) and just cut it into cubes. I think they have a light enough crumb to work pretty well in this dish. I left the crust on.

Scott most recently was at Rosso, though he still consults at Cyrus last I heard (which has the best cocktails in SoCo in my opinion). BarnDiva is also a solid cocktail contender.
