GTO’s in Sebastopol is having Live Jazz and brunch…..found the menu online and it looks yummy!

Yup. And if you were family, you’d be welcome, too.
The men in the family do it all, from shopping for the food to cooking and cleaning up afterward.
Try it sometime, especially after you’ve had another memorable Mothers Day out with mediocre food in a restaurant overcrowded with people who are there because their guilt drove them.

Are you going to invite everyone over to your house then? Maybe this is the one time a year people do like to go out and show mom’s how much they appreciate them. AND usually it is mom’s taking mom’s out so MOM, DAUGHTER, GRAND DAUGHTER (Who might all be mom’s) don’t have to cook and clean. It is really rude to make the assumption that people only appreciate their mother’s one time a year!

What happened to having Mom over to your house and making her a big pile of bacon, a big heap of creamy scrambled eggs, and a huge pile of pancakes?
Isn’t THAT what it’s SUPPOSED to be about? Not spending huge wads of money for steam-table brunch, elbow to elbow with other masochists who only come out and be nice to Mom on one Sunday a year?

HopMonk Tavern in Sebastopol is having a Mother’s Day brunch from 11-3. Outdoor seating in the beer garden or the deck. FREE live music from 12-6 in the beer garden. Regular menu also available all day and night! Kid Friendly!

My mom, sister, and I are going to Estate in Sonoma for Mother’s Day brunch. What drew us in was the fact that they have zeppoli on the menu. Zeppoli is an Italian fried-dough treat that sort of resembles funnel cake, but is different. My Sicilian grandmother used to make it, and I’ve never seen it on any menu anywhere except for at street festivals in Italian neighborhoods in Brooklyn, NY (we grew up in NJ). I have no idea if the Zeppoli at Estate will be worth the visit, or even the food for that matter b/c I’ve never been there (although I’ve heard good things about it)….but I’m looking forward to trying it out!

It’s great to know that there are so many Mother’s Day brunch choices here in Sonoma County.
The best one for me is where someone serves me what I want, when I want it, without the crowds. With that said, I am likely to be eating something tasty from Mateo Granedos at the Sebastopol farmer’s market on Mother’s Day. Or actually any nice Sunday.
