Thank you so much for this post! I’d never heard of CSAs, but after reading this I went out to find one in my area that still had shares available. I get my first box tomorrow! Strawberries, garlic scapes, lettuce, onions, cilantro and radishes are some of the things coming my way tomorrow. Yum!

Laguna Farms is year-round. They order organic food (as locally as possible & tell origin) to fill in gaps.
Eggs, organic dairy, bread, fruit in the summer & extra salad mix are available for extra charge. (not sure if the dairy is only on-site or available in the delivery. You’d have to ask). Also, onsite is a farm-store where extra produce is available for member purchase.
My box last week had salad mix (every week), beets, kale, kohlrabi, scallions, broccoli, potatoes & a bunch of thyme. I get the fruit so I also had strawberries, plums & pluots. YUM!
And a newsletter w/ info from the farm & recipes linked to what’s in the box.

I use Sunborn Organics, an entirely organic farm located in Kenwood that just started it’s first year of operations. I have used many local CSAs over the years, and have never been so delighted and inspired by the goodies that arrive on my doorstep!!
They also provide me with fantastic recipes that include many of the ingredients that come in my box along with useful and informative knowledge about the nutritional properties of my veggies so I am learning as I am cooking Keep your eyes out for them at local farmer’s markets this summer, and check out their website:

great info. Laguna Farm in Sebastopol surprised me every week while I lived out west. Such a wonderful concept…keep it going farmers of CA.

We use Green Valley CSA…they are out of Sebastopol and wonderful!
All organic of course, all site grown with a couple of fruits and veggies from neighboring farms.
Yum!
They can be reached at 707 824 8586, and have a few slots left for this year. Boxes start in a couple of weeks:)

I use Planti Organics which is a bit different. They fill your box from farms located in the bay area. They can either fill my box or I can. What I do is have them fill it and then subtract what I don’t need and replace those items with what I have on my shopping list. They deliver to my home. Great people, great service.
