Folks have been asking me for weeks what’s going on at the former 505/Acapulco space in downtown Santa Rosa. So here’s the answer as far as I know it… (Thanks @downtownsr for posting the Twitpic this morning and reminding me!)
Franco Fabiani, the former owner of Fabiani’s in Santa Rosa will be opening a new Italian pizzeria/trattoria-style restaurant in half of the space. The other half will be occupied by a new nightclub called Chrome Lotus, backed by Gianni Messmer, who was one of the founding partners of Seven Ultralounge (he was later bought out by former Los Robles Lodge owners Andy and Joy Kalia) and who purchased the Round Robin in 2006.
It’s a massive, labyrinthian space inside with several bars, dining areas and a kitchen that’s been unable to find an owner willing to take it on since 505 failed. But good news for downtowners always looking for a new spot to dine.
No word yet on when they’ll open, but work has been going on for weeks. Stay tuned.
