If for no other reason than the 30-plus beers on tap and their heart-stopping fried bacon dog (with mayo), this Petaluma newcomer gets a howl-out.
Housed in the former Petaluma Hotel courtyard, the spot is still trying to figure out if its a sports bar (flat-screen tvs dominate the wall above the bar along with some good-natured rowdiness on Sunday) or a family restaurant (with plenty of stroller-setters as well).
But no matter, focus instead on the menu of specialty dogs (BLT, Seattle dog with sauerkraut, cream cheese and mustard, Reuben and Buffalo), Italian sausage and steak sandwiches match the hoppy-heavy selection of craft brews. Fries are standard-fare, but bonus points of small-production root beers for non-drinkers. Check out the menu or the bottle list.
205 Kentucky Street (beneath the historic Petaluma Hotel), Petaluma, 763-6700. Open daily.

hi there, I found some great posts you could possibly be liked to see. Please go to: Click here
Went to Taps for the first time last night and had a blast. Tasted three different beers, including the Duchesse de Bourgogne (delish!), but had a cider myself. I was in Ireland for 6 months and tasted 9 different types of the UK’s best ciders, and I fell in love with the cider I tasted last night. Didn’t think I’d be able to find something as good outside of the Emerald Isle. Didn’t get to try the food, but that’s next on my list! But the atmosphere had a good vibe, and the service was friendly.
this place was cool the first 2 weeks they were open, then the prices went way up twice. the service was good but now the have a bunch of “cute” chicks with no personality, one of em never smiles and acts like its the last place she wants to be. the 2 owners are the nicest employees they have. it sucks that their staff is so stuck up and they got greedy with their prices because i would be in there everyday!!!
Great place. Hey Eric, try to get Moonlight Brewing’s IPA. The best IPA on earth. Only comes in Kegs.. I will be in everyweek if you get it..keep us updated, plus your website is difficult to read.
The food is awesome, been several times, no complaints and worth every penny.
The steak sandwiches at Taps are awesome!!! I’ve had them a few different times and never been disappointed. Worth every penny. The servers are always friendly and helpful with the beer selections. I love it! Keep up the good work!
Locally sourced Sausages and Links served in locally made breads isn’t cheap. We are using sonoma cheese, full circle bakery, and local meats and sausages. If something wasn’t to your liking, let me know as I will make it right. But please give us the opportunity before it gets blasted on the internet. Thank you for giving us a try…
Eric
thank you for coming in.
Eric
we havent found any veggie dogs we like yet. thats why nothing on the menu. any suggestions? we’re listening to our customer’s and have open ears…thanks for coming in and check back as we have a salad coming next week…big step for us….
I had a lunch meeting there and everyone in our party of six thought the food was great. The service was very personalble and I will return. Unfortunately we did not get to sample the beer but that gives us a reason to return
$8.00 for one small sausage in an overly toasted bun. No fries included a rip off. Could be a good place atmosphere felt good, but need improvements on the food.
They do have a veggie dog, it’s called a bun! I hear they’re delicious…after you put some meat on it!! haha!!
No veggie dog or veggie brat? Not even one? Come on, get with the 21st century.
I stopped by during their Grand Opening a couple Fridays ago, and really enjoyed myself. Tried a variety of beers and their garlic-steak fries were yummy. I will be back!
