From the I Totally Knew It But Douglas Wouldn’t Tell Me Department:
After month of secrecy, we’re able to confirm that the rumblings are true – we’re excited to report that the upcoming season finale of Top Chef airing this Wednesday was shot at Cyrus restaurant and features one of our own local talents as guest judge – Chef Douglas Keane!
For the Season 6 Finale, finalists prepare and cook in Cyrus’ kitchen for the final stage of this year’s exciting challenge. Maitre d’ and Co-Owner Nick Peyton greets Tom Colicchio, Padma Lakshmi and other judges and guests before all are seated in Cyrus’ elegant dining room.
Tune in on Wednesday to see who wins.See my original article (about them filming at Cyrus in October.

It was an amazing season with a nail-biting ending. Being a Healdsburg resident, it is upsetting that Healdsburg wasn’t as prominent as it could have been. I would have loved to have seen Duskie, Jeff Mall, Josh Silvers and even you (Heather) there (just as they did with local chefs in Napa during the season 1 finale), but money talks. But, on the bright side, what brings people to wine country is good for both Sonoma and Napa county.
Boo, yeah, kinda disappointed with the failure to mention Sonoma County.
Great ending to a real good season and I totally agree with Kate about the lack of the proper mentioning of Sonoma County. Napa County was repeatedly mentioned in the episode earlier. Oh yeah, did I miss seeing Nick Peyton?
Heather- Do you know how we can contact Bravo and/or the producers of the show to complain to them about the fact that Cyrus’s location was only mentioned once, and only as being in Healdsburg? Anyone watching last night, not from the Bay Area (or even the North Bay), would easily assume that Cyrus is in Napa County. Tourism is such a big part of our local economy, and seeing as we are still in the grips of economic upheaval, it seems really irresponsible that the producers of Top Chef and the Bravo Network would allow that assumption to occur.
By the way, I really appreciate your local coverage and I look forward to your posts. I have learned alot about the SoCo dining scene.
Douglas Keane was fine but how much did those corporate restaurant types and Terlatto Jr. pay to make sour faces at the food with the moms watching? If they had to have more diners, it would have been great to have real local restaurateurs and chefs at the table, not a bunch of know-nothing suits who paid big bucks to be there.
Congrats to all 3 – best season of TC since I’ve been watching. I think any of the 3 could easily beat the heck out of the last year’s winner.
