JAN 22 | P/30: Chef Patrick Tafoya has, drumroll please, set an opening date for P/30, his long-awaited Sebastopol bistro. Focused on homey American comfort food like fried chicken and waffles (bless you chef), lamb potroast, a handground burger on homemade brioche, flatbread pizzas and salads, the roadside resto will welcome its first diners on January 22. If you haven't been keeping score, Tafoya is the former exec chef at the Duck Club in Bodega and a up-and-comer proving his mettle in the kitchen. The restaurant will be located in the former Saint Rose roadhouse west of Sebastopol, leading off with dinners Wednesday through Sunday (5 to 9pm-ish) and plans for weekend brunches in the coming months. Call ahead for an early rez: 861-9030. 9890 Bodega Hwy, Sebastopol.LATE JAN | Bistro M: Rumor is that January 18 will be the soft opening for Bistro M, the casual sibling to Mirepoix in Windsor. Husband and wife team Matthew and Bryan Bousquet have been revamping the former Langley's on the Green location. Stay tuned for more details.
LATE JAN | Sift Santa Rosa: As mentioned before the Cotati/Napa cupcakery will be opening in downtown Santa Rosa perilously close to BiteClub's workplace. 404 Mendocino.
SPRING | Catelli's: Heard recently that this longtime Italian resto is returning to roost at the former Santi (see below) location. Directly from Craigslist: "The rumors are true! The Catelli family is reopening in their family location in Geyserville after a 17 year hiatus! Come be a part of the fun filled family atmosphere and tradition that thrived in Geyserville for over 50 years!"
SPRING | Santi Santa Rosa: Now that their Geyserville location is closed, the crew is moving lock, stock and barrel to the new Fountaingrove digs.
ON HOLD? | Maria, Maria: Remember all the buzz about Santa Rosa's Cantina being turned into Maria, Maria -- a theme restaurant backed by Carlos Santana? Well, BiteClub hears that the project is on indefinite hold. Despite other Maria, Maria locations opening in the Bay Area, Cantina will continue to be Cantina for the foreseeable future.

Cena Luna is the child of my husband Stuart and I, we never morphed into anything, we are completely different owners and chefs and not related to any of the Catelli family!!!! yvette and stuart hom Chefs/ Owners Cena Luna Ristorante
just a shout out, my wife, Yvette and I bought the old Rex owned by susan hampton almost 6 years ago, we are in NO WAY SHAPE pr form any relation to them, we have built our own restaurant here in Healdsburg with everything on the menu fresh and made here daily, just wanted to clear that up!!! Stuart Hom Chef/Owner Cena Luna Risorante
There appears to be some recent construction at the remnants of the PacJack BBQ on 116 South between Sebastopol and Cotati. Anyone know anything about what's happening there. The PacJack sign is still up. It had good BBQ before the fire, including the hard to find lamb riblets.

I wish all yall the best of luck! but don't goin' out to buy a new car . . . it's a jungle out there and keeps me wounderin' how i keep from goin' under!
"Resto" is street French. I like it and use it all the time, though it's true most people don't get it. What's wrong with adding some fun to our language?
Heather, you were doing so well lately by not doing the whole ptown thingy... and it's not that your lazy, yur jus tryin ta b 2 hip fho yo age... you'll get over it some day, you just haven't realized yet how ridiculous you sound.. until then, we'll just cringe.
Re: Catelli's
Yes, the restaurant moved to Healdsburg and then closed. The owners of Cena Luna are not related--completely different restaurant than before. I am looking forward to the next generation of the Catelli family starting their own restaurant.
It will be interesting to see "which" members of the Catelli family are coming back. Ex's beyond compare ... it will never be the same as Virginia Catelli.
Question re Catelli's. When they left Geyserville, they moved to Healdsburg and then morphed into Cena Luna I believe. Are they still involved in the Healdsburg restaurant
Thanks for the update on The Cantina. I've been wondering when they were going to change over. Too bad it's on hold since it's such a great property.
It's a sickness on my part. I have a really bad habit of shortening stuff. Trust me, its not a "cool" thing. I'm mostly just lazy and hate write restaurant a million times a week. Miggs, if you knew me, you'd be "M" or "Ig". Maybe Igs. Join the haters of Ptown, Hburg, the SR and various other short-cuts on this blog. heh.
Resto? Really?
I'm anxiuosly awaiting Santi's opening, but please
tell me they'll have more comfortable chairs than they had in Geyserville.
If they were looking to turn over their tables quickly, they scored a home run with those hard wood chairs.
The restaurants I visited recently in Italy had comfortable seating and you were encouraged to relax, take your time, and enjoy the experience.
