Hold those horses, pardner.

In the ongoing saga of Santa Rosa’s Cattlemens… The Santa Rosa location of the steakhouse remaining in Montgomery Village.

Reps for both sides extend mutual holiday cheer as follows…

Wayne Holloway, President and CEO of Cattlemens: “Cattlemens is very excited that we will continue to be a part of the Montgomery Village community for a long time to come. Cattlemens and the ShoppingCenter Management will be remodeling the facility to provide an improved atmosphere for our guests.  We have been part of Montgomery Village for over 40 Years and we are very appreciative of the cooperation from the Shopping Center Management towards improving the experience for Cattlemens guests”.

David Codding, Montgomery Village Owner: “I cannot imagine Montgomery Village without Cattlemens—it’s been our Santa Rosa anchor for decades.  It may sound cliché, but Cattlemens is truly part of my Village Family.”

Recently, it was reported that the longtime restaurant was eyeing the former Latitude Restaurant space in Rohnert Park for a possible move. The company had been negotiating its contract with Codding management, who own Montgomery Village.

Exactly what will now happen to the Latitude real estate is up in the air.

This place is awful. Steaks are rarely cooked properly and the only seasoning they use is MSG. When I asked them not to use MSG on my food (because it makes me very ill), my steak came out plain with no seasoning (and it desperately needed seasoning). They couldn’t even put basic salt and pepper to season the steak. We won’t ever return here.

Its Santa Rosa’s most successful restaurant and a part of our history. Here’s to another 40 years. Looking at all the business they get, it seems the MAJORITY of Santa Rosa loves Cattlemens

I go to Cattlemen’s only because my friends like it never my choice. Steaks look alright, but nothing too fancy for the price but middle of the road. Usually we have pretty good service there so thats nice, wait staff is pretty attentive. Its definitely a cut above Applebee’s and maybe a smidgen better then Outback at times.

In it’s original form it was The Saddle N Sirloin. Now it’s just a part of a chain in disguise in the Montgomery Village. Back then it was pretty damn good. Now it’s just another C- joint. New interior won’t fix the food.

Ummm. Its a chain and its not in disguise. Its also better than the majority of local restaurants in the area.

I agree. The food is not good. If you look in the kitchen, there are a bunch of “chefs” who look like they dont know the difference between rare and well done. I have had nothing but bad experiences there. I tried different nights and different days and they are consistently bad. The service was just so- so. Even applebee’s has better food.

Maybe they will “remodel” their service and food as well.

The Starks should put Steakhouse Volume 2 into that Latitude location. Shazam!

I had heard that the Elephat Bar was looking at the old Latitudes place. Did that fall through?
