Know some great local olive oils? I'm putting together a wrap-up on great local olive oils. Tell me your faves.

I have been working at Starcross for a few months and have had the chance to taste the olive oil they grow, press, bottle and sell here. The oil is a tuscan blend with a deep color and richness; it's so tasty, especially the Nuovo, that I want to find new ways to use it! I not only dip bread in it and cook with it; there is a lavender-infused oil made here that I also use as a moisturizer!

DaVero produces great olive oils (www.davero.com). Their 30-weight is a great all-purpose oil, while their Estate and their Meyer Lemon oils are amazing finishing oils. Their olio nuovo was a masterpiece this year. I couldn't get enough.

Since its founding in 1990, the B.R. Cohn Olive Oil Company has led the renaissance in California olive oil. All of the extra virgin olive oils bear the Seal of Quality from the California Olive Oil Council. The estate oil is from 140 year old picholine olive trees on the 90 acre Olive Hill Estate. My favorite is the Meyer Lemon Olive Oil. Cheers!

Hi! I hope that you would consider tasting the olive oils I make at Dry Creek Olive Company. We have several different extra virgin blends as well as a couple of citrus olive oils. If I can be of any help, please let me know. Thanks!
