There aren't too many places we know of to get birria locally. Here are a few: Pepe's on Stony Point on the weekends, Carniceria Contreras on Todd Road on the weekends, La Familia (Sonoma), and Los Primos (SR). There are far more in the Bay Area. Chava's (Mission District SF) and El Charitto (San Carlos) are both really delicious.
We went to the 2009 Winter Release Party at Silver Oak (Oakville) and Cindy Pawlcyn had come yummy goaty taco appetizers.

The taqueria inside Los Mares market and Taqueria Guadalajara both in Healdsburg have Birria en caldo, usually on weekends.
